Go on, tells us we’re dorks. I can take it!

If I had my archives imported I would be linking to an old entry where I talked about how the husband and I had pretty much matching everything. Cars? Yup, at the time we both had silver Accords. Laptops? Yup, matching Dells. It went on and on. Matching this, that and everything. It was annoying, especially the cars. It finally stopped a year ago when the husband traded his Accord for an SUV and when I broke my laptop stopping short driving one day. Since then the only thing matching was our baseball hats. What, Boston only has one team, can’t help that one!

So why am I mentioning this? Oh why because we’re matching again!

Augh.

It started in August. We both needed new luggage. We knew we wanted the same brand and “model” which I was fine with because I had intentions on getting mine in purple. Of course, we needed them ASAP which meant that they were not going to have purple in stock. I was right.  No other store in the area did either. Who knew purple suitcases were in.

A few weeks later the Husband started going to the gym with me. Considering that most nights we go straight from work he needed a gym bag. Did you really need to get the same bag as me Mr. Husband?!  smile

One would hope that the matching would stop there but oh no, it doesn’t. We once again have matching phones (Blackberry curves, not iPhones - I think we are the only 2 people around who have no interest in those things) although,I have to admit something about this one. The Husband had the phone first. I know, I have no reason to complain about this one, especially after you hear the next details.

He bought it for me. He bought it for me because I liked his curve (haha) better than my pearl (hahaha) and started to pout. I’m such a child. But he is an enabler for buying it for me smile

I’m hoping the matching stops there but I’m not putting money on it. Maybe I should, we definitely don’t have matching wallets.

How To…

Get your football loving husband/boyfirend/etc to change the channel in the middle of the first half:

Exactly what is a first down? So, is that a first down? How can that be a “first down” if they already went down?

So there are how many yards on each team’s side?

What is he doing? Really? Why?

Why do they go for the “extra point” after a touchdown? Can they skip it?

Ok, explain first downs again for me please.

No I cleaned the bathroom yesterday.

Why did he pass the ball instead of throwing?

I’m mean, I know. To be honest, I was interested at first but quickly got bored. Oh, I should note: I only made him change it for a minute before deciding to leave him alone. I know better than that smile

Me, Coffee? Never.

I recently received a phone call from someone who I have not spoken to in a couple of years (not for any particular reason). This person was prompted to call because he saw me sitting in traffic that afternoon and wanted to say hi. He told me that at first he wasn’t sure it was me as the last time we saw each other I was blonde (ok, and drunk). It wasn’t until he noticed my coffee at 3 in the afternoon that he knew for sure it was me. Coffee? Me have coffee? Never.

Never without I should say. I’m well aware of the fact that I’m a heavy coffee drinker (I have even tried 3 times in the last year to cut back without success) but it wasn’t until that phone call that I realized just how much coffee I have each day. At minimum, 6 cups.

Minimum. 6. Cups.

And I wonder why I have trouble sleeping.

What’s Your Rush, Is There A Fire Or Something?!

The fire alarm in our building went off last night. Apparently it was ringing for 10 minutes before we even woke up and when we did wake up, we kind of took our time moving. Sneakers? Where are my sneakers? Sweater, need a sweater. Purse? Keys?  When we finally got outside, the fire department was already here and in the basement looking for the master panel. We were back inside in less than 5 minutes.

Slightly embarrassing.

Finally

So, I finally installed EE. It only took 3 months *shrugs* I suppose I was too busy shopping all summer to deal with this! Ok, that isn’t completely true...yes it is.

I still need to figure out how to import my entries from MT. I’ll admit, I’m not all that motivated to do this. I’m going to guess it will take another 3 months before I take on this task. Until then, I’m going to have colleenb.net redirect to colleenb.net/blog. I’ll stop redirecting once MT is gone for good.

So...coffee anyone?
