Weekly theme = lists
1. I left the office this afternoon with the intention of getting a salad for lunch. I came back with a meatball sub.
2. I think I broke or fractured a toe on my left foot last week. I should really have it looked at as walking (and running for that matter) is starting to really hurt but I need a pedicure first. I realize that my priorities are probably a little screwed up.
3. After swearing to eat better for the rest of the day after my little lunch binge I came home and had a cupcake for dinner. Must go grocery shopping tomorrow.

10 reasons I’m tired of winter
1. Dirty slushy snow piles
2. Sand EVERYWHERE
3. Dry skin
4. Canceled flights
5. Wasting 10 minutes warming up the car every morning.
6. More dry skin
7. Teaser spring like days
8. Grey skies
9. Ice y walkways (I’ll give you a guess why this is on the list)
10. Even more dry skin
And of course that rodent saw his shadow. Some day I’ll leave New England. Some day.

Mrs Clean
One thing I realized today...Saturday’s are boring when all you do is clean. At least I can look at my kitchen floor and not shutter is complete disgust.

Whoops

After my little pat on the back for doing so well in January I almost miss day 1 of February. Almost.

One month down, eleven to go.
I actually stuck with it, I posted every day this month. WOOHOO!
Looking back on January I found that 10 posts consisted of photos only, not too bad if I do say so myself. I really expected it to be more than 10. Now, my textual posts...well they were not all that substantial. I rarely had the opportunity to write early in the day which resulted in a lot of random end of day babble. Amusing for some but painful for me to reread (please don’t).
February’s goal is to seriously improve the content around here. Although don’t expect a miracle, I’m not expecting the month to start off well. There is a high possibility that tomorrow’s post will be full of more crazy ramble than usual as the January job report is due out. As some people know (Hi Meredith, Hi Moah), I follow this report every month (a long story for another day). In a good economy the monthly job report makes me twitch, never mind in a slumping economy.
Consider yourself warned!

Nyquil is my friend
Nyquil works miracles. I took some Monday night and woke up Tuesday morning with nothing more than a headache and a slightly stuffy nose. Ok, the headache was intense and I could barely breathe but I still felt 90% better than I did the day before! Now I just wish the headache would go away.
Anywho.
Nyquil not only works miracles, it apparently causes some interesting dreams. I’m not normally one to remember dreams but Tuesday morning I found myself trying to put some odd pieces together. Pieces like M&Ms, Dominoes (pizza), London Bridge and sand. Oh, also the FedEx logo. I can understand the M&Ms and Dominoes, the only thing I ate that day was a handful of M&Ms and Kev ordered a pizza for dinner which made me nauseas. The rest is baffling. London Bridge and sand? FedEx logo? Do I need to mail something? Maybe I’m going to London? Or a Beach? Hmmm...actually I wouldn’t mind heading to a beach.

Caution: GERMS!!
So you know how things tend to happen when you start thinking about them? Things like, “hey, I haven’t seen so and so in a while” or “Hey, I haven’t had a cold in a while”? Yeah, well, guess who recently said both of these to herself? While your at it, guess who woke up (at the ungodly hour of 3AM) in rough shape this morning? Me! Le sigh. Why did it have to be the cold? I would have preferred to run into Lori (although that girl can talk for days about nothing.)
I shouldn’t (and won’t) complain though as this is my first cold this season. Usually by this point, no matter how much vitamin c and whatnot I take, I’ve had numerous colds and at least one ear infection. I did have that one ear infection already so I guess I was due for the cold.
Except, I’m starting to think that this is more than a cold. A little dayquil kept me moving this morning but by early afternoon the chills started. By the end of the day I was pretty sure I had a fever. Now, I’m about dead to the world. Meh. I lied, I’m going to complain. Wah, I’m sick and I’m whiny (to which the husband would say, “What else is new").
Bring on the OJ and dayquil/nyquil. I have 4 days to get rid of this annoyance.

I thought we were supposed to have issues pronouncing the letter R
Today’s excuse for a lame post...helping the husband prepare for his interview tomorrow. He continues to say “gold” instead of “goal” and it is driving be absolutely crazy!
“What is your goal for the next 5 years”
“My gold...”
“You said gold”
“No, I said gold”
“Excactly, you said gold”
“No, I said G-O-A-L”
“Whatever, try again”
“My Gold...”
“GOAL! SAY GOAL NOT GOLD”
“Gold”
It is going to be a long day…

Le Sigh

It’s Friday. I’m tired and suddenly have a major toothache. This is all I’m capable of tonight.

Does red look good on me?
I have a facial scheduled tonight after work. A microdermabrasion type facial and I’m a little freaked out about this. I’m used to enzyme facials but facials that actually take a layer of skin off? Scary!
I keep thinking about the episode of Sex and The City when Samantha goes in for a chemical peel and comes out lobster red and stays that way for days…
Maybe I’ll just cancel.

Canon 40D
So, the Canon 40D. It was my Christmas gift from Kev. My surprise Christmas gift I should say. Considering that I just upgraded my Rebel XT to the Rebel XTI this past July, I was not expecting this. At all. In fact, I didn’t even realize Kev knew that I wanted the 40D. So to say that I was excited when I unwrapped it Christmas morning is an understatement. I was beyond excited. Ecstatic.
Another understatement would be to say that I love this camera. I really really really love this camera. So much that it is now insured. I even read the user’s manual which is something I never do (the Husband,on the other hand, will read a user’s manual multiple times before using whatever it is he has).
After we did the whole family thing Christmas day I dragged Kev to Harvard Square in the freezing, bitter cold so that I could play (He totally earned back lost brownie points that day!) I started out taking JPGs but soon switched over to RAW. This leads me to the one thing I dislike about the camera. I used both the XT and XTI in RAW format and had no problems opening the files in CS2. So color me confuzzled when I realized that I couldn’t open my RAW formatted 40D pictures in CS2. CS2 does not support the Canon 40D RAW. I suppose this should have been obvious but it wasn’t, it was annoying.
I’ve spent a lot of time trying different plug ins hoping that I can get CS2 to accept these files. I’ve had zero luck. As of right now, my only options aside from simply taking photos in jpg are to upgrade CS2 to CS3 or to install the software that came with the camera. Both are expensive, CS3 will be expensive (plus I’ve heard that it is still very buggy) money wise while having to use other software to convert the files and then opening in CS2 will be time consuming. Apparently there is a possible patch coming soon but I can’t seem to find an ETA. Until then, I’m stuck in JPG but thats ok because, like I said above, I love this camera, in either format.

Happy Anniversary!

I was going to write about my new camera but today is our Anniversary (3rd) and we are heading out after work for dinner (even though we did celebrate this weekend, that interesting story to possibly come this week) which means I most likely will not be home before midnight. So instead, I’m taking the easy way out today with the first picture I took with the 40D.
Squares Best Deli. There you go.
